Making your first visit a great experience.


We recognize the fact that your first visit can seem overwhelming, especially when you are in pain and we want to try to help you by providing you with the following information so you know what to expect and you can come prepared.


Frequently Asked Questions





How long will my first visit be?

You can expect to be in our office approximately 90 minutes on your first visit. You will undergo a comprehensive evaluation in which we will establish an appropriate treatment plan. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to discuss insurance and billing procedures with our front office staff and to complete any necessary paperwork.




How long will my regular appointments be?

Depending on the type of treatment that you have been referred for, your regular appointments will last from 45 – 90 minutes.




Who do I schedule follow up appointments with?

Appointments are made with the front desk staff or your physical therapist. You should check in and out with them at each appointment.




Will my insurance cover the cost of my treatment?

Our front desk staff will outline your benefits when you arrive for your first appointment. Co-pays and deductible amounts are collected during your visits. Any additional amount unpaid by you will be billed to you. Our Billing Specialist is ready to answer any of your billing and insurance questions, and can be reached at (315)298-0647.




Will my doctor be kept updated on my treatment and progress?

A copy of your initial evaluation will be sent to your referring physician, along with regular progress notes to keep your physician updated on your current functional status. Communication with all parities is an important component of your treatment program.




What will happen upon discharge?

Upon discharge, you will be prepared to leave physical therapy, and your home exercise program will be updated accordingly. You may contact our physical therapist anytime with questions or concerns.




What should I wear?

Since you will be stretching and exercising we highly recommend that you bring (so that you can change into) or wear comfortable, unrestrictive clothing or athletic clothing. Your clothing should allow us to evaluate your area of injury. As for footwear, we suggest closed-toe shoes – sneakers would be perfect. We’d also recommend against anything with a heel.




What should I bring to the first appointment?

You will need to bring a few items with you to your first appointment. These include – your insurance card as well as your driver’s license or photo ID. Also, if you were referred to us by a physician, please remember your prescription.
